A Different Type of Barbeque Chicken Recipe

This summer for a new and different type of barbeque chicken recipe try this really juicy honey barbeque chicken. You can grill this up on your grill; you can barbeque it. You can even broil it inside your kitchen. If you like to spice things up, you can try some of that Chipotle flavored Tabasco Sauce to give them a real nice smoky flavor. And you do not have to go real wild with it too, just enough for your taste buds.

If you have had a lot of barbequed chicken over the years, then chances are you have fallen prey to those stringy, tasteless, dry pieces of bird that some folks try to pass off as bbq chicken. Or how about the ones that are black on the outside yet still raw on the inside? Now I should not make fun of those people; I used to be one of them…..back in the seventies. Yes, I am that old. And that is why I do excellent barbeque, years and years and years of trial and error. But also years and years of perfecting my techniques.

Techniques which I gladly share with my readers. Techniques on steak, ribs, and even on a barbeque chicken recipe which we will talk about today.

First, and I know I have covered this before, if you are using a barbeque sauce, do not put it on until the last. They usually contain sugar and if you are not careful the sugar will burn and you will have bitter tasting chicken. So it is no problem if you want to use bbq sauce, just brush it on a few minutes before you take the chicken off of the grill. This way you will get that extra flavor, but not burn the meat.

Chicken should be cooked slowly. The faster you cook it, the drier it tends to be. Using low heat for a long time will help it stay moist, and using a dry rub will give it a lot of flavor without leaving anything to burn.

Honey Barbeque Chicken

*

6 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
*

12 Tb of barbeque sauce
*

6 Tb honey
*

½ Tsp of red pepper
*

½ Tsp pepper
*

½ Tsp garlic powder

Now here is a real fast tip which can save you a lot of time for when you are in a hurry. Take the chicken breasts and boil them in the kitchen for a few minutes. This way you will make sure that the insides are going to be cooked and what you are going to do today is just finish them on the barbeque for that great grilled flavor. After all we are doing a barbeque chicken recipe for you today.

Take your chicken pieces and lay them on the grill over a medium heat. And now you can generously baste them with your honey and barbeque sauce mixture. While they are finishing up here, sprinkle those spices on them. You are going to be cooking these for only about four to five minutes on each side.

Now this is going to be just a little different type of a barbeque chicken recipe, but try it and see if you like it. You have cut your time in half by the prep work in the kitchen earlier and you just might like it.
